چکیده
In order to monitor natural and anthropogenic disturbance effects to wetland ecosystems, it is necessary to employ both accurate and rapid mapping of wet graminoid/sedge communities. Thus, it is desirable to utilize automated classification algorithms so that the monitoring can be done regularly and in an efficient manner. This study developed a classification and accuracy assessment method for wetland mapping of at-risk plant communities in marl prairie and marsh areas of the Everglades National Park. igh resolution imagery mage texture upport Vector Machine Maximum likelihood (ML) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers were tested using 30.5 cm aerial imagery, the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), first and second order texture features and ancillary data. Additionally, appropriate window sizes for different texture features were estimated using semivariogram analysis. Findings show that the addition of NDVI and texture features increased classification accuracy from 66.2% using the ML classifier (spectral bands only) to 83.71% using the SVM classifier (spectral bands, NDVI and first order texture features).

Local Derivative Pattern with Smart Thresholding: Local Composition Derivative Pattern for Palmprint Matching
Palmprint recognition is a new biometrics system based on physiological characteristics of the palmprint, which includes rich, stable, and unique features such as lines, points, and texture. Texture is one of the most important features extracted from low resolution images. In this paper, a new local descriptor, Local Composition Derivative Pattern (LCDP) is proposed to extract smartly stronger...
متن کاملImproved Wetland Classification Using Eight-Band High Resolution Satellite Imagery and a Hybrid Approach
Although remote sensing technology has long been used in wetland inventory and monitoring, the accuracy and detail level of wetland maps derived with moderate resolution imagery and traditional techniques have been limited and often unsatisfactory. We explored and evaluated the utility of a newly launched high-resolution, eight-band satellite system (Worldview-2; WV2) for identifying and classi...

The ecosystem of wetlands has precious natural environment to be preserved in the world. In order to sustain valuable wetlands ecosystems for a long time, it is very important to frequently monitor the state of wetland ecosystems, to carefully watch the environment, and to earlier warn the environmental change. In this research, using high spatial resolution of color photographs taken with a 35...
متن کاملBlanding's Turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) Potential Habitat Mapping Using Aerial Orthophotographic Imagery and Object Based Classification
Blanding’s turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) is a threatened species under Canada’s Species at Risk Act. In southern Québec, field based inventories are ongoing to determine its abundance and potential habitat. The goal of this research was to develop means for mapping of potential habitat based on primary habitat attributes that can be detected with high-resolution remotely sensed imagery. Using e...
متن کاملSurvey and Analysis on Wetland Detection Technique through Satellite Imagery
Wetlands are most important and valuable ecosystem for maintaining biodiversity on the planet. In present scenario wetlands are vulnerable to climate change and land conversion activities like agriculture and urbanization. Due to their important fine temporal scale monitoring of sensitive wetlands are required. For this purpose few tools are specified to monitor the wetland at landscape scale. ...
